Happy New Year to you!!

Well, Zhiyong just come back from Michigan the day before Christmas eve and we as a family finally are together again. As many of you know, after 10 year's patient waiting, Zhiyong finally started his "dream job" November 2nd at Michigan State University as an assistant professor. He has many responsibilities, from extension (talking to beekeepers and help them combat pests and diseases, and produce more honey), to teaching (he will co-teach insect physiology starting in January!) and research (just got news yesterday that he is funded for a China-USA joint project, so he will be able to travel to China next year to start the research). So far he has been busy writing there, the lab also needs totally renovated. But he has a few hundred thousand to build his dream lab. So far he has one postdoc and 2 students, but let us hope that he does not outgrow the rather small (500 square ft) lab in one year.

On the home front, we have bought a house at Okemos, about 10 min away from MSU which is at East Lansing. The closing date is around December 31 but we will keep praying that it will be on time. The house at Champaign is not sold yet, we therefor need your prayer too to sell it soon because we will be tight even for the one house at Okemos, let alone with two of them!

David and Melissa are doing well in school here, and they will start at the Cornell School January 4th in Okemos, one of the best schools in that area.

Zhiyi, Zhiyong's younger brother, who joined us summer of 1997, now holds a F-1 visa, so he can continue school here with no problem. He has been taking courses for an associate degree in computer science at the Parkland College in Champaign, but will transfer to Lansing Community College in January. We thank the Lord that the tuition there will be much less expensive ($108 per credit, instead of $248, for non-resident students).

Guije is not decided yet what to do in Michigan, probably find a job first to pay the bills first, then when our debt is paid off, perhas continue her computer classes.
